How it works
From the moment someone requests care to the moment they feel better, here's exactly what happens.
Request is made
The patient (or their employer) requests a home visit through the Welo app or via their employer portal. They describe their symptoms and location.
Doctor reviews the case
A Welo doctor reviews the request and confirms it's appropriate for a home visit. If virtual care is sufficient, they say so immediately.
Nurse is dispatched
The nearest available qualified nurse is assigned and dispatched. The patient gets live tracking, they know exactly when to expect their nurse.
Nurse arrives
The nurse arrives with a full clinical kit. They conduct the assessment, administer treatment, and document everything digitally in real time.
Treatment administered
Whether it's an IV drip, wound dressing, vital monitoring, or medication, treatment is administered on the spot. Prescriptions are sent digitally if needed.
Follow-up scheduled
The nurse books any required follow-up before they leave. The doctor reviews the case notes and signs off. The patient gets a digital care summary.

Every nurse is verified with the Health Professions Council of South Africa before joining the network. No exceptions.
Every visit is documented digitally in real time. Case notes are reviewed by a supervising doctor within 2 hours of every visit.
All patient data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We operate under a full POPIA compliance framework and Data Processing Agreement.
Every visit is rated by the patient. Nurses with consistently low ratings are reviewed and removed from the network. Average rating: 4.8/5.
